credit cards - never any transactions?

I am a customer at a U. S. credit union. This one is also a lot harder to download credit card data from. In my case I need to log in to the credit union site to get to the log in page to the credit card site to find the link to download the credit card transactions. Then they do not offer ofx or qfx format so I either take excel format or pdf and screen scrape from that.

GnuCash doesn't talk to banks itself, it uses some glue. I think the
problem is that the bit in between GnuCash and your bank may not know about
each other.
I'm guessing you're in the USA so maybe someone familiar with your bank's
distinction between accessing bank v credit card accounts will be able to
help.
Credit unions sound like they should offer people friendly banking and
generally do here in the UK, have you tried calling them?
