Your suggestion was absolutely right, the problem was with the settings in
Tools->Security Editor.

The one thing you didn't show that might be helpful is how you have the
particular security of interest set up. It's under "Tools->Security Editor"
on my Mac OS X setup, likely has the same menu structure for you. For
example, for one of my securities, the attached is an image of the

Note that to get the quotes to be input by Finance::Quote, I had to:
(1) Get the correct symbol/abbreviation. Seems trivial, but for this one in
particular, some list it as "BRK-B", some as "BRK.B", etc.
(2) Check the "Get Online Quotes" box.
(3) Scroll down the list of possible sources to select the provider of my
quote ("USA (Yahoo..." in this case)

If you've got all that right, it should grab those prices for you.
