Verifying Gnucash

Hello,

I have been using Gnucash for several years on my iMac.  Since I upgraded my OS to Yosemite, I have to re-open Gnucash every time I restart my computer and when I do that Gnucash goes through a step called “Verifying Gnucash” that lasts several minutes.  In the past, it took only a few seconds to go through this step.  How can I make “Verifying Gnucash” go faster?
