How to un-reconcile an account?

Colin,

Yes, backups are important, but I know I wouldn't necessarily load a backup in this situation. Loading a backup means I would lose all the entries in my other accounts, which would really make things tough.

Mark, if you know the transactions, of course, you can just reenter them, and reconcile to your most recent statement. Then, you just tick the new transactions, and it all should match. Your only option otherwise, I think, is manual--as in, go through the later transactions and change them to unreconciled in the register, and start over reconciling. That's how I've handled it in the past, at least.

Surely you have a backup of your accounts file since then. If not then
think seriously about your backup strategy. Remember a disc or PC can go up
in smoke (literally or metaphorically) at any time.
