GnuCash Register Colors

I'm trying to change the register colors from the yellow/green theme to one
that's easier on the eyes. I located the gtk2_prefs application, but all
that does is change the colors of the surrounding window and menus.

I know very little about computer programming, but could easily be walked
through it. I'm working on Windows 10, but have a MacBook running Snow
Leopard that I can use instead if necessary.

Please advise?
