How many people have fiscal years which are different than a calendar year, and what dates are they?

Accounting periods don't specifically have to be annual. Many public
companies in Australia for example also report 6 monthly and even quarterly
(internally) or monthly although most of these occur in an annual framework
and may not be full reporting. The fiscal year in Australai is 1st July to
30th June and is primarily driven by taxation reporting requirements..

Internal reporting for management purposes can often be on much shorter time
frames than annually.
