GNUCash file size grew nearly 14 times

If you are referring to untangling your backup problem, I would suggest
first deciding if you want to make your named file, which started from a
January 29th backup as your current data file.  If so, manually rename or
copy the newest copy of that file to a simple name without all those
numbers.  I also notice that the two filenames in your post are different
backups from April 1st.  Which of those is your correct file?  You probably
still have backups somewhere other than on the google drive too.

You may need to copy whichever file you want to keep back to your user
space on your C drive in order to get back to a simple filename.  There is
discussion about that in section 3 of https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/FAQ
which is still online.
