How to enter split transactions

Beyond what the tutorial might say, some advice to make easier.
a) Until you are experienced, do not attempt two way spits (transactions 
split on BOTH the debit and credit side).
b) Begin with the unsplit side whichever that is. Enter in  THAT account 
but before selecting the other side account(s) hit "split".
c) Change the other side amount to the correct amount for the first 
account on the other side, enter the account, and hit enter. The 
remaining balance will say the account is Imbalance. That should be the 
amount of the next split or larger. If larger, change to the amount of 
the next split and specify the account and hit enter, and you repeat 
"c". If the exact amount, when you have specified the account and hit 
enter the transaction  will be in balance.

d) When you are faced with a two way split, you might (for now) use 
multiple transactions. For example, if manually opening a new set of 
books (creating the CoA with all accounts zero and then making the 
opening entry you could use two opening entries (one for the debits and 
one for the credits)
