Trial Balance Report with Investment Transactions

John, 

You may not be an accountant, but you keep telling me that I am double-accounting for these. I honestly don’t understand that. I just don’t see how the basic math breaks down.

I am going to abandon this thread now, because I’m not making any progress. I will simply not use the Trial Balance or Balance Sheet reports or the Scrub feature in stock accounts (where there are fees), since they don’t match what my broker reports to me and the IRS. 

My hope for a report of unrealized gains will also have to go on a shelf, since the underlying problem can’t be resolved either.
