Failure on replaying log file

Hi,

Thursday I closed my day with all accounts balanced and with correct values.
Yesterday when I opened GnuCash, my pocket money account was showing a 
balance of *-164.25 €*where it should have 7.9 €. And I didn't enter any 
transactions.

I tried replaying the log for the previous day, but nothing happened. 
Since it was only one single account value, it was easy to correct, but 
replaying the log should have fixed this, right?
