Be sure you have the proper backend installed. I'm not sure what this is
for postgres. I use sqlite, and I need to make sure I have libdbi
libdbi-drivers and sqlite libraries installed before it shows up as an
option in gnucash. In other words, rather than telling you options aren't
available when you try to use them, gnucash simply doesn't show options
that aren't available. (Mr. Ralls might be going this direction, too, but
from a more helpful angle; I'm not sure.)
