Because some of us don't mechanically filter, but use the Subject line to
visually filter. This I do effectively, my MUA (mutt) has a threaded mode which
groups everything in a conversation.

The cost for those who mechanically filter is some 5 extra characters in the Subject:

The benefit for those who do NOT mechanically filter is to be able to easily spot
GNC related email.
