Thanks David.
That sounds like it should work.
I’ll give it a try when I have a new qfx file to import.
I’ll confirm back that it worked (or not).

Subject: Re: [GNC] Change Account associated with a QFX file
I cannot find the solution that I used several years ago, but here is something that you can try:
I don't guarantee that this will work so make a copy of your data file to try this experiment:
1. Open the last QFX file that imports to the wrong account. Change the name to something crazy and change the <FID> identifier in the file to something different.
2. Save the file.
3. Start the OFX wizard and associate this new file to the account that you erroneously selected earlier. This dis-associates that account from the correct <FID>.
4. Now, start the OFX wizard again and select the correct QFX file. Associate to the correct account this time.
5. Now that other account will be associated to that bogus <FID> so if you want to import transactions to it you will need to associate a correct QFX import file to that account.
I don't think that any easier way way has been set up yet, although I think there is an enhancement request somewhere.

Hello.
While importing bank transactions in qfx format, I accidentally associated a
qfx file with the wrong account in gnucash.
How can I change gnucash to point to the correct account in future imports -
or to drop the current association and next time I import to prompt for the
account ?
Thanks in advance.
