How to edit and post 'duplicate' customer invoice?

Please feel free to comment or add information for your situation.
I filed it as an enhancement (and included other relevant things needing to be disabled) as some people may need or desire direct editing of these accounts. But you should have the option of disabling those functions if you want to avoid doing so.
