Well, I don't claim to be a genius at anything, but the .pdf files are
interesting.

If you are now up and running and have gnucash and your file back, great.

If not, you might have to delete, move or rename the .LNK file. I
would rename it and move it out of the directory (folder) where LSA
Nicosia (s) BE 175.gnucash is located. There seems to be a preference
on this thread for deleting it. Your call; any of these methods
(delete, rename, move) should accomplish what you need. But you
apparently cannot have:

filename.gnucash

in the same directory as:

filename.x.xxxxx.LNK

Here is an "old" mac trick that might work on Mojave:

1. highlight the app you want to open (in this case gnucash).

2. DO NOT CLICK OR DOUBLE CLICK; JUST HIGHLIGHT

3. Using the keyboard, pres:

Apple+Option+O

That might open gnucash (the program) only, without opening any data
file. Then try opening the file:

LSA Nicosia (s) BE 175.gnucash

>From within the gnucash program.

The rest of this is tl;dr. Obviously, skip it if things are working
for you, or you have figured out a different procedure.

The screenshots are interesting. This might not help you, but here's
a guess as to the background.

The previous file opened in gnucash was:

LSA Nicosia (s) BE 174.gnucash

GnuCash crashed with that file open multiple times on 2018 FEB 26.

On 2018 NOV 2, LSA Nicosia (s) BE 174.gnucash was renamed or copied to:

LSA Nicosia (s) BE 175.gnucash (I don't know if that was manually
done, or if the program did it).

That would have happened on 2018 NOV 02 at 2:53pm (the created and
modified date are the same)

You had the file (LSA Nicosia (s) BE 175.gnucash) open in gnucash at
2:54pm that same day.

But nothing was entered into LSA Nicosia (s) BE 175.gnucash. It had
the same data (entries) in it from the moment it was created until
gnucash crashed (probably around 2:54pm).

You did indeed have gnucash running, gnucash might have loaded the
file LSA Nicosia (s) BE 175.gnucash, but gnucash saved no new data to
the file and no other changes. It remained unchanged from it's
creation date (Nov. 2nd at 2:53pm) as late as Nov. 04 at 10:14am.

So is there something else beside the .LNK file that causes gnucash to
open LSA Nicosia (s) BE 175.gnucash as read only? Is it sitting on a
drive where you have permission to both read and write to files?

>From the first screenshot, you can see that the file LSA Nicosia (s)
BE 175.gnucash.0.6219.LNK file has no data. The information window
for the file has "Gnucash.app Document - Zero bytes". As others have
pointed out, there is no data in the .LNK file itself. However, the
three attributes that OS X shows in the finder of the file can help
troubleshooting: (Created, Modified, Last Opened). LSA Nicosia (s) BE
175.gnucash was opened on Nov. 2nd at 2:53pm. This created the .LNK
file Nov. 2nd at 2:54pm. LSA Nicosia (s) BE 175.gnucash was open in
the program gnucash until 3:16pm that same day.

But LSA Nicosia (s) BE 175.gnucash remained unchanged from the time
gnucash opened it (Nov. 2nd at 2:53pm) until as late as Nov. 4 at
10:18am. No new data is being entered.
