[GNC] Problem reconciling with new 3.3 under osx high Sierra 12.0

had one heck of a time reconciling my accounts today using 3.3.  Gnucash keep
'closing unexpectedly' leaving me with locked files and partial reconciles. 
finally, got them reconciled by continuously saving the data after a few
items were checked until I completed the whole  process.  something not
right.
