Hi Varda241,
It sounds like you are used to seeing the Basic Ledger View with a single line setting.  Possibly, the Funds In and Funds Out columns were called Deposit and Withdrawal.  These features can be changed easily.  If you go to the Gnucash.org website and find the Help manual and Tutoria and start in the help Manual then go to https://www.gnucash.org/docs/v3/C/gnucash-guide/txns-register-oview.html#txns-regstyle1 in the tutorial you will find out how flexible the view settings are.
