The original patch is not working with 3.5 which probably means some other
changes have been made to the matcher which have subsequently stopped it
from working. I'll have to debug it again and then resubmit it.  I have just
checked it in 3.4 and it was still working OK, so I will have to chase down
what changed between 3.4 to 3.5 in that area and rework it to suit.
