[GNC] "Non-sticky" scroll bars in gnucash registers

It's a personal system, no restrictions, but the upgrade process is one 
I tend to avoid unless absolutely necessary.  Can you upgrade 
18.04-18.10 in place, or does it require a reinstallation of everything? 
  Will my GnuCash need to be rebuilt?
