[GNC] 3.8 crash on Ubuntu 18.04

Hi all!

My wife just switched from Win7 to Ubunt 18.04. she has used GnuCash for many  years and is comfortable with what she uses it for.

I built a 3.8 for here when I set up the system, built on that system,
and until today it has been working fine (built it about 1.5 weeks ago).

All of a sudden today, when she opens an account and attempts to add a new entry OR to modify an existing entry she gets an instant crash.

Can anyone help here?

Is there any other info I can provide, or other steps I can do to help
diagnose this?
