No, there's no way to do either in the GUI. We've discussed internally adding options to gnucash-cli for doing this sort of troubleshooting.
The best way to troubleshoot individual stocks is from the command line with gnc-fq-helper, see https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Online_Quotes#Trouble_Shooting.
