[GNC] looking for quicken alternative

The GnuCash interface is more like a traditional pen and paper check register.

As for connecting to banks and brokerages, mileage varies by institution.

It does not, as far as I’m aware, allow one to create a transaction offline and then sync it to your bank. But downloading bank transactions is certainly possible.

You can enter just about anything you want manually otherwise.
