[GNC] entry point error after recent automatic windows 10 update

I haven't done this before, so not sure I'm following protocol.
I am also not computer tech savvy, but do have a lot of accounting
experience and am enjoying the software.

So, I cannot use or access gnu at this point due to this entry point
error.  It says:

"the procedure entry point gnc_scm_call_1_symbol_to_string could not be
located in the dynamic link library C\Program Files
(x86)\nucash\bin\libgncmod-app-utils.dll.

Ive done an antivirus, defrag, computer maintenance.  I turned off my vpn.
I've tried to reinstall software 4-5 times but I always get this same error
message.

Can anyone offer any guidance?  I'm trying not to spend a lot of money
fixing this issue.
