John, thanks again for your help. I have done that and saved it from the print program as a pdf. However, still the same problem - lines are cut in half. It doesn’t seem to matter what I do, the problem persists.

The MacPorts folks think that the latest version has fixed that and I'm working on getting it to build now. We'll see. In the meantime the workaround applies to macOS as well as Windows.

To export a report, click the Export button in the toolbar and use the chooser dialog to put the report somewhere convenient, then double-click on the exported file in Finder. That should open it in your browser, where you can use command-P to open the print dialog and the PDF drop down there to save it as a PDF.

I am not sure what WebKit has to do with a Mac, and I don’t understand what you mean by exporting the report to disk - do you mean my hard drive? When I create reports in Gnucash, I format them right away in a pdf file. What do you suggest?

Is Gnucash programmed only for letter size paper? My documents and pdfs all cut the lines in half at the end of a page and I have tried many things to fix it.

It has to do with WebKit: The last version that supports Microsoft Windows does a poor job of formatting into PDFs (or printing for that matter). The best I can suggest is that you export the report to disk and use your regular browser to convert it to PDF.
