1. I can recall that from sometime in the past, but when I checked on
my later version the find box did close.
This is interesting, because there are options like "modify last
search" (not correct name) and they are meaningless when the box
disappears after an initial search

2. If you use a normal mail client, you will see every poster's email
address. I use claws-mail. I see that you have used a nabble, a third
party interface to the mailing list.
