Maybe. Did you follow the link to his forum post about passing it on? I don't have time nor interest to play that game. 

OTOH if he's willing to release the code under an acceptable FLOSS license along with the data and you're willing to deal with the traffic then sure. I don't think we'd even care about the domain, we can just as well use ofx.gnucash.org.
