[GNC] How can I fudge a quotation in GnuCash and convert it to invoice if accepted?

I thought I asked this question recently, and received a suggestion, but I
can't get the suggestion to work. Sorry for the repetition.

To me at least, one of the most annoying features of GnuCash is the
inability to create a quotation. I believe this is not *strictly *an
accounting issue, but the ability to create a quotation can be found in
almost any *accounting *software for a business.

*Oracle's Netsuite*

*Microsoft's Dynamics 365*

etc etc.

If I had the skills, I would add the ability to create quotations myself,
but I most certainly do not. 😢😢😢

I think there are some fudges to get around the inability to create a
quotation, but what are they? I believe someone said create an invoice, but
do not post it. Whilst I can do this, and go back and retrieve the invoice,
the invoice has no contents.

I was looking at other options to GnuCash, since I am not 100% committed to
using it, and found this link about accounting software in 2021
https://www.how2shout.com/tools/10-best-open-source-accounting-software-in-2020.html

*It is seriously flawed in what it says about GnuCssh* - apparently it is
written in C and available for Linux, GNU, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, Solaris,
Windows, macOS, and Unix like platforms. So I take what that article says
with a pinch of salt - a Google suggests that;' only an English expression,
but it means to be sceptical of it.
