[GNC] What difference ubuntu universe and ubuntu universe update?

Not certain of the specific differences personally. (you can review the

Since you are on Ubuntu, have you considered the Flatpak version? 
Current is v4.4. There have been a hundred+ bugs fixed since 3.8/3.9.
