[GNC] Confusing and inconsistent headers in transaction entry and report forms

That preference is merely for presentation.

Yes, the manual describes how the options work.

It has nothing to do with debit vs. credit but rather the account 
balance shown as positive or negative. Whether an account has a debit or 
credit balance is not changed by the preference.
