[GNC] GNUCash 4.9

Use File > Save as… to close GnuCash, and specify the location and file name (without the date.) That then becomes the file that you always open. The files with dates are the backups. If you take the earlier advice, you will set the number of backup files to keep in Preferences > General – Retain backup files.
