[GNC] Startup issue - two windows

I still have the problem on Linux. Gnucash is running full screen.
The list of windows is:
  GnuCash Tip Of ...
  q2016.gnucash
If I Iconify both of them, there still is a window on the screen.
That window is the GnuCash welcome(?) one.
It has the version number, and at the bottom says: Loading data...

If I restore all windows, there appears to be three popup windows.
On top is the welcome window.
Under it, is the Tip window: Previous, Next, Close icons visible,
but nothing happens if I click on them.
And a third window that just barely extends past the welcome window.
I can click on it, but it does not come to the top.
