[GNC] register description field width

Thanks for the input.I have just started using gnucash, on a windows box, so all of the inputs are from CSV files.  I checked the csv file for the account that I am using as a guinea pig and there are no description fields that extra characters.  The longest line in the file is 80 characters.  The fact that it is 80 gives me pause, but the import didn't fail.
could this be a csv import 'feature' ?
i will try to use a quicken format from the source to see if the same occurs during import.

If you want to hardcode the widths of columns, you can do that in user data. I wanted my books and accounts to all be exactly the same so I did it this way.

It works for all but the description field.  This field behaves as if there is an extra 200 spaces attached to the end of each entry.  Trying to pull the right hand vertical bar will move the header, temporarily, but the field width remains the same.
Is there some way to hard code, force, change the width of the description field?
