The .bz2 file is the compressed source code file for those intending to
compile Gnucash locally. What OS are you using?  If macOS you need the .dmg
file and for Windows the .exe file

You can either go to the Gnucash web site at
https://gnucash.org/download.phtml and download the correct file or
download using the following links from John Ralls original release email :

Microsoft Windows:
https://github.com/Gnucash/gnucash/releases/download/5.0/gnucash-5.0.setup.exe
https://downloads.sourceforge.net/gnucash/gnucash%20%28unstable%29/5.0/gnucash-5.0.setup.exe

Apple macOS:
