Unfortunately, that's as few steps as you can get right now.

Note, Saved Configs aren't saved *instances* of Reports. They are a
collection of saved Options.

Then don't put that period-specific info in the config. Do that after
you run it. (you're having to do it now anyway...)

I used a Saved Config for 'EOY Income Statement'. After it is visible, I
make period-specific changes as needed like if I want a custom header
text. But the bulk of the report Options are already set with the least
amount of work.

That report is an entirely different beast than Income Statement or
Balance Sheet, the traditional annual reports.

It is a 'Swiss Army Knife' of reports, which is why you have to
customize it to your liking each time. If you have a complicated Options
setup for it, then of course, save that as a Config, then after you run
it, set the period-specific stuff after.

-----
You have 2 options:

1. Set the report options each and every report run. (lots of work and
clicks)

2. Set the report options that are common *regardless of period* and
save that as a config, then when you run the report, adjust the period
specific options. (less work and clicks)

*dates should be generalized in a config, and with some thought when
setting them, should in most cases, likely not need changing when
actually run to get it right. I only specify exact dates when the
general options aren't suitable.

-----
If you'd like, craft a Transaction Report you're frustrated with, choose
the option on the General tab to include the Options Summary and
copy/paste that in a reply. I'll be happy to indicate which ones can be
set in a config to save you repetitive work and get you a 'meaningful
output' with the least amount of period-specific customization.

Adrien
