[GNC] installing Gnucash

Could you please give me a step by step guide fore installing GnuCash.    I have downloaded from both advised sources, and the program has been saved to my computer.

But where do I go from here?    I have tried various means to get the program up and running but after two days of repeated attempts I have given up trying.

Could you please give me a step-by -step guide to get going.
