[GNC] Unable to enter data in "Description" field of a Transaction

Following up on that, since you're on macOS there's a diagnostic option that's not readily available on other platforms:
1. Open /Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor. Find GnuCash in the process list and select it.
2. Type a character in the description field of  a new transaction to make GnuCash Freeze.
3. Back in Activity Monitor, click the gear icon and select "Sample Process" from the resulting menu. 
4. Attach the resulting file to a reply.
