I have a question about when the user preferences that can be set under
Edit > Preferences are saved. Is it necessary to close the program to save
changes to these settings or is it sufficient to perform, say, File >
Save? Or are those preferences automatically updated when you close the
Preferences window a la Android OS?
The reason I ask is that it seems to be necessary to close the program to
update custom report configurations and register window column widths, to
name a couple of things. I think that I once created a feature request to
add a button to commit updates to user configurations such as reports and
column widths without needing to close the program, but that was long ago.
