There are software applications that will supposedly do this type of transfer. I used one onetime and the results were less than spectacular. I would not recommend that route.

The folder structure on Win10 and Win11 are the same.

Unless you changed it, documents are stored by default in the "Documents" folder which would be located at C:\Users\"your username"\Documents. You could copy all the files from that folder to a thumb drive or other external storage device. Connect the storage device to your new pc and copy the files from the storage device to the C:\Users\"your username"\Documents folder on your new pc.

If you have a Microsoft account and use OneDrive the folder locations are different and instead of:
        C:\Users\"your username"\Documents it would be at:
        C:\Users\"your username"\OneDrive\Documents

You can do some online research. I'm sure you will find more information on how to make the data transfer.

I am switching from a desktop pc to a windows 11 laptop and cannot get it to work. The program downloaded but I dont know how to move the files to the new location. Can anyone walk me through this. I am not very computer literate.
