[GNC] Modifying the Register

Greg,

The main way to do this is to use the <tab> key to move to the next
field which includes the memo lines. Just enter data in the memo fields
(in the description column on the second and subsequent lines of the
transaction). Shift-<tab> moves backwards through the fields of the
transaction. <Enter> completes the transaction.

It is displayed a bit more clearly either by setting the auto-split
mode for all registers (Edit->Preferences->Register Defaults_> Auto
split ledger) or just for the current register (View->Auto-split
ledger) or for a single transaction (right click while transaction is
selected and select Split transaction) from the pop up menu.
