[GNC] Any way to clean up (not totally delete) saved auto-complete saved register entries?

Are they in the gzipped xml text of the data file, where they could be edited into a new order, or in the user config files, like current tabs showing?

Many such features use some sort of help, like sorting so the top of the list is probable and defunct suggestions are deep in the basement, and just showing a few suggestions, give or take scrolling and shrinking the list for partial key entry.  GnuCash seems to do this for some fields.
