Hello,

The reason there are no balances is because you have a debit and a credit
in the same account. If your opening balance is 10k and that opening
balance is in a bank account it should be

   - DR Bank    10k
   - CR Opening Balances 10k

If those opening balances were from a loan from the bank you before the
business inception it the journal should be

   - DR Opening balances 10k
   - CR Loans 10k

With both entries you would not have a balance in Opening balances but you
should have balances both in Bank and Loans.

That way you are going to see the balances in the right places not. Right
now you have nothing in Opening balances because there is no balance there,
you have move that somewhere else.
