[GNC] 1099's

Heidi,

1099's are clearly juridictional specific to the US and not anything
specifically to do with GnuCash per se. 

Following on from Rob Heller's comments on the 1099, the way you
recognize that income you have received is subject to a 1099 is that
you should receive a copy of the form from any client who pays you if
it is relevant.

You can then handle that by creating a sub account of your Income top-
level account and putting any income received subject to a 1099 you
receive into that sub account.

Wehn you create an invoice AFAIK it identifies the vendor in the Memo
field of the transaction as "Sale <vendor name>".  A transaction report
on the income subaccount should give you all the transactions subject
to a 1099. That report includes the Memo field for the transaction.
Extract the memo field into a spreadsheet, sort on vendor name (it
usually has Sale as a prefix), eliminate duplicates and you have the
list of vendors.

You could also tag any transaction subject to a 1099 in the Description
or memo fields at creation with a unique tag and do a search for
trnasactins with that tag.

I have done a bit of limited testing of the above but can't guarantee
it will work.  It could also serve perhaps as the basis for creating a
custom report.
