I run Dropbox on Ubuntu (and Android and another person here runs Windows).
I am running Version 5.9 installed via Flatpak, and I am using the standard
XML file type. I do not see any file named {file name}.tmp-a24500 on my
system when using GnuCash.
Could it be from a different application?
When using XML GnuCash creates at least four kinds of files:
{filename}.gnucash (the ".gnucash" extension is optional but customary)
{filename}.{long number with date & time}.log <-- usually have a bunch of
these
{filename}.{long number with date & time}.gnucash <-- usually have a bunch
of these
{filename}.gnucash.LCK
Maybe if you are using a database backend (like mySQL) that would explain
the tmp file?
