[GNC] Column width in register

I have a beautiful verdana 16px font in my register.  I am however, unable
to change the width of the Description column.  I have changed all the
other columns to accommodate the larger font but the description column
width is forcing them off the screen.
Any help will be much appreciated.  I've read everything I could find.
