[GNC] Showing account totals as of today

It shows the value at today's date, the same as against the "Balance" for 
the last entry before the blue line in the account tab.

There's also a "Cleared" column which shows the balance of all cleared 
txns.

I'm pretty sure this is all stated in the docs, somewhere.
