As Murugan said, raising invoices is one way to keep track.
There is another tedious way, if you don’t want to use business features for invoices. Create an income account for each member, then you can run Income Statement - Multicolumn from the reports menu to get a snapshot of each member’s payment status.
But then, you have the tedium of setting up 300 member accounts. I think CSV import might come in handy here. Export one account first, then import by modifying the exported template with each member’s name changed. Perfect way to unwind on a Sunday afternoon with a couple of beers on the wagon.

All the members have their names and membership numbers entered on one line.
I can do a search using their individual membership no or names, but that only brings up the payment history for that one person.
To do that for over 300 members would be a nightmare
