Understood and agreed.
That's why I chose keepass. I have the db on my linux server, and have
a mapped connection to the server. Also, I run a cron job on the laptop
to keep the laptop copy of the db up to date, in the event I cannot get
to the server through ssh (or perhaps I don't have internet). And,
finally, there is a cell-phone app for it that can access the db over
ssh as well.
So, I use it on _all_ of my machines (windows and linux alike) and all
my cell phones as well. I keep everything in it as well... grocery
lists, credit card informations, literally anything that I want to have
access to wherever I am and whatever I have to reach it.
Keepass allows me to keep the database on my servers, and manage my own
access and security.
