Accounts that are in a separate set of books balance separately from the 
"real" accounts.

It is NOT just "vesting" that might make this desirable. Sometimes one's 
"net worth" or "effective income" might contain major elements of 
significant value that woulds not appear in the "real" figures << you 
want to know "effective" to compare employment alternatives, etc. >>
