[GNC] downloading 5.12 for windows 11

Ian — FYI. I just went to sourceforge.net and successfully downloaded gnucash.
However, you should note that the latest version of your browser (if you are using EDGE) will prompt you that downloading an .exe file is not safe and you must purposefully say you want to keep it. Otherwise, your browser assumes (unfortunately) that it is not a safe downloadable file and will not complete the download (i.e., it downloads everything but will not save it). Because of this, it leaves it in the "unconfirmed" state and you will not see the file. Look for the download to complete and then in the browser click on the download message and make sure to say that you want to keep the file. Otherwise, by default, it will not be kept because it is an .exe file.
This is MS's way of trying to protect you from downloading .exe files. You must go through the extra step of saying you want to keep the file.

Sorry , that did not help either. I still ended up with the unconfirmed file. I searched This PC for an appropriate exe.file in some other folder but found nothing..

Try downloading it directly from Sourceforge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnucash/files/gnucash%20%28stable%29/5.12/gnucash-5.12.setup.exe/download

OK< I downloaded it again. I watched the progress of the download and it
looked like it got to the end, but I still have an unconfirmed file in my
downloads Ian

Unconfirmed usually means that the download did not finish. I would try
to download a second time. If you continue to receive this unconfirmed
message, then that would mean the download is not completing for some
reason. Try again and let us know if you continue to get unconfirmed. --

I went to gnucash.org<http://gnucash.org> and downloaded gnucash 5.12 for windows 11, but the
file that appeared in my downloads is called unconfirmed 637997.cfdownload,
not an exe file. How do I download a file I can use to install gnucash?
