[GNC] Scheduled transaction for end of the day - bank interest

Hmmm... I am interested in understanding  what is to be gained from scheduling up interest payment transaction - in some cases date will show up incorrect if bank pays on the prior business day should last day fall on weekend, and you most certainly are going to update the amount for the interest as it will be hard to get it right  ahead of being posted at the bank. IMHO, that should be done manually when account is being reconciled. Besides, it is very trivial to recall a transaction with few characters in the register makes it simple to enter at a moment's notice.

I'd like to push back just a little... you CAN pick and choose which entries get executed in scheduled transactions -- though in some earlier releases it wasn't clear the Status field was changeable, so it might be little surprise you didn't know...

You CAN pick and choose which ones: Each item will allow you to change its Status field to "Ignored," "Postponed," "To-Create," or "Reminder."

o Reminder is what you see when you have a transaction to be created in the future but you haven't reached the relevant date yet. (Though you can always change it "back" from "To-Create" if it's ready to activate).

o Postponed will "hold" the transaction so it will never automatically create the transaction.

o Ignored will skip the creation of the transaction for this regular iteration.

I'm using GnuCash 5.12, but these options have been available for quite a few years, though there didn't used to be any "decoration" to show they're changeable. Now the options have a "v" next to them to indicate a pop-up menu.

The Since Last Run dialog was further updated a few releases ago to improve the prompts when you insert actual values into created transactions. (Just enter one or more variables, such as the word "amount" or "int" into the numeric field(s) in the scheduled transaction, and the Since Last Run dialog will prompt you to enter the amount(s) to be inserted in the transaction. Yes, you can do some math using the variables, too, so the created transaction can contain calculated results.)
